June 2022 updates

Hello HCBOR!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer so far! Thank you so much for being a part of Who We R®!

The first half of 2022 has flown by, and we are gearing up for great events, speakers and time TOGETHER from now until December. You don’t want to miss our “Coffee with Candidates” in July at the Civic Center! We will return in August with our ”Back to School” luncheon complete with a school supply drive, and a report on one of our local school systems. September welcomes fall and REALTOR® Safety Month. Our, in the planning stages, “Tasting for Tadmore” fundraiser will help provide much needed funds for our Partner in Education, Tadmore Elementary. There’s nothing scary about our October BRUNCH magician; a canned food drive and November’s Northeast Georgia Co-op speaker will make Thanksgiving special for so many; and, a 2022 Holiday Celebration will round out the year! Come join us for all the fun!

We wouldn’t be who we are without YOU! Find a way to plug in and be a part of this great group of professionals – let’s stay connected, have fun TOGETHER, and work for our community! I look forward to seeing you soon! Chris

December Hall Co Board of REALTORS Lunch

Hi Realtor friends and affiliates,

I hope to see you at our final lunch of the year on Wednesday, December 15th, 11:30 am - 1 pm, at the Gainesville Civic Center. Tadmore Elementary's chorus will be singing and help you get into the holiday spirit if you're not there yet. And speaking of Tadmore Elementary, you can still help with our annual fundraiser, helping those teachers and children. Please visit HCBORTadmore.com to donate or you can bring a check on Wednesday, made out to Tadmore Elementary or Hall County Board of Realtors. If you make it out to HCBOR, please just notate 'Tadmore' on the check. Your help is greatly appreciated in meeting our annual goal of $10,000. Thank you to all of you who have so generously given already.

President-Elect Chris Simmons has what I know will be an incredible 2022 planned. She and the 2022 leadership team will be installed on Wednesday. Also on Wednesday, our immediate past President and RPAC co-chair Judy Presley, will present RPAC recognition pins to RPAC donors.Thank you for your investments in RPAC.

If you haven't yet registered for the Inaugural Conference in January, I hope you will consider planning on coming. I have learned so much from the CE classes offered at the recent conferences I have attended. Bottom line is - my business has improved because the knowledge obtained there helped me work smarter. AND - it's so much fun!  So click here to learn more and mark your calendars for January 11-14, 2022.

Don't forget to check and make sure your Code of Ethics training is current. You can log in at NAR to check your status.  So many great resources are there and at the Georgia Realtors website.

I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every member and affiliate for your involvement and for your membership this past year. I have made new friends and I look forward to serving with you in the future. Let's all thank Chris Simmons for her leadership.

Chris Simmons, President, Hall County Board of Realtors - 2022

I hope to see you Wednesday.

Happy Holidays,

2021 President

Nov Hall Co Board of Realtors Lunch & Update

Happy Thanksgiving, fellow Realtors and Affiliates!

I am thankful for each of you and all you've done to make 2021 such a spectacular year. Our Annual Awards Banquet was so much fun. We not only honored our award winners, we had great food and entertainment, the Fly Betty Band. Congratulations to all our honorees, and especially to our Realtor of the Year, Immediate Past President Judy Presley. Please congratulate her when you see her! Also, our new Phoenix Awards winners are shown here as well - Dani Burns and Judy Paul, both with Keller Williams Lanier Partners. (Phoenix Award indicates the recipient has qualified for Circle of Excellence Award for 10 years). Look out our for our ad congratulating the award winners in The Gainesville Times.

I hope to see you Wednesday, November 17 at our monthly luncheon. It will be held at the Gainesville Civic Center, 11:30 am - 1 pm. You can also join via Zoom if you can't make it in person. Look for the zoom invitation Wednesday morning. Brad Mock, Director of Government Affairs at Georgia Association of Realtors will be our speaker. He is also a member of NAR's Government Affairs Director Advisory Group. Brad is a graduate of the University of West Georgia where he received both a Bachelors in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration. If you don't have your ticket yet for the luncheon, please get it here at this link.

Our annual fundraiser for Tadmore still needs your support. More importantly, the kids and the teachers needs us. Please visit HCBORTadmore.com and make a donation prior to the end of the year. How about doing it to celebrating GIVING TUESDAY on November 30, 2021!  I know without a doubt that we will meet (and hopefully exceed) our goal of $10,000 for Tadmore Elementary School.

Our board also generously Realtor Political Action Committee (RPAC) and there have been so many reasons to support RPAC this year. Brad Mock will enumerate many of them. We have until November 30 to get our investments in to RPAC. Please send check made out to Georgia Realtors to our board office and notate RPAC. Read about our recent legislative victories here. To invest in RPAC, please click here.

Please mark your calendars for our December luncheon, December 15th, when we will see the students from Tadmore Elementary perform a Christmas program.

August Meeting-Affiliate Expo/Luncheon

Hi fellow Realtors and Affiliates,

I am excited about seeing you this Wednesday, Aug 18th (11:30 am - 1 pm) at the Gainesville Civic Center for our Annual Affiliate Expo. I am pleased to announce that our Beach Bash themed lunch will be prepared by Northwest Exterminating. I hope all Realtors will come out to visit our Affiliate booths, SUPPORT OUR AFFILIATES and thank them for their ongoing support. I am making an intentional effort to support and do business with the affiliates who support our Hall County Board of Realtors. I hope you will too.  If the people you do business with presently aren't members, please ask them to join us.  Here's a link for sharing with potential new affiliates. Our AE, Katie South, will be sending a Zoom link for those who prefer to attend virtually. The $5 we normally pay for lunch will go to support Tadmore Elementary.

Because we are seeing a new wave of Covid-19 in our area, we are strongly encouraging and asking you to wear face masks while not dining on Wednesday. I understand this compromises our wants and efforts to return to 'normalcy' of pre-pandemic and appreciate your grace and understanding during this challenging time.

TADMORE 'ONE & DONE' FUNDRAISER

Our board supports Tadmore Elementary School annually.  In previous years, we sponsored and held a golf tournament.  This year, Mary Beth Alexander is leading up the efforts to raise funds for Tadmore Elementary with a 'One & Done' Fundraiser.  We are raising funds amongst our membership to support Tadmore Elementary, a Title I school in needs of our continued support. In years past, we have contributed to Tadmore a check for $10,000. I know that we will raise even more this year.  Here's the website if you want to share with your peers and friends:  HCBORTadmore.com
With the great year most of us are having, I trust that each of us will share in supporting that school and this fundraiser. You can bring a check made out to Hall County Board of Realtors notating 'Tadmore' or

CLICK HERE TO MAKE YOUR DONATION  to Tadmore (via Paypal)

It will make you feel good, and it will do lots of good! Thank you, in advance.

OTHER DATES

Please mark your calendar for our next monthly luncheon in September.  Also, our annual Awards Banquet themed 'Boots & BarBQ' is October 21 at the New Gladys Wyatt Performing Arts Pavilion. I hope you'll plan on being there to celebrate not only accomplishments of 2020, but also the fact we can get together again. The popular band, Fly Betty, will be our entertainment. Thank you, Robin Gravitt for all your work in planning this event!  If you'd like to help with decorating, please let Robin Gravitt know.
